Have I mentioned lately how blessed we are to capture these sweet babies? I love photographing life’s tiny miracles. Newborn photography tugged at my heart 10 years ago when I began this career. I recall researching all types of photography when deciding what to specialize in, and I kept coming back to these precious newborns.
Newborn portrait sessions are the longest in duration of any type of session we offer, often longer than even small events. They are also by far the most expensive type of session we produce as we include a newborn assistant and a ton of custom designed props from the best newborn baby photo vendors in the industry. And post processing - they are by far the most challenging and time consuming to edit as we work through a variety of factors from skin tones, baby acne, and blending several images together to create one breathtaking image.
I say all that to say, to be a successful newborn photographer, it is truly a work of heart. Every other type of photography is most likely easier and less expensive to produce. So newborn photography is truly a calling.
