Sweet babies …. locally, throughout North Carolina, I am known for my baby photography. I do photograph a ton of high school seniors, families, maternity portraits, professional head shots, models, children, and commercial photography, but when I am seen out in the community I am referred to as the “baby photographer.”
Truth is, I am okay with that! My newborn art is something I have invested many years in learning, and continue to do so. There are so many workshops, seminars, groups, events and more that have contributed to my continuing education for newborn art.
Newborn photography requires a very specific skill set, a ton of education, time and an extensive prop collection….all of which is a huge investment as a photographer. So if you ever wonder why some photographers specialize in newborn photography vs. others that may just photograph a newborn here and there - this is part of the reason.
Being a newborn photographer is a commitment. It takes dedication and loyalty to the craft. It is hard work too. Newborn portrait sessions are the longest and hardest type of session I do! So why do I love them? I think there is something so special about capturing tiny miracles in the newness of life. These memories are some that deserve to be documented in the most beautiful way.
