This boy - he arrived at the studio full of sweetness, smiles and energy. He may just be the very best two year old I have ever photographed. He arrived on the scene smiling and posing for me without hesitation...making my job so easy! His big brown eyes melt your heart and he is so loved by mom and dad.
I was so grateful for our studio space for this family photo shoot. When we moved into our new studio space in West Burlington, near Alamance Crossing, we had many considerations. One of those was the location - we are easily accessible to the interstate, making it so very easy for our clients that travel from Chapel Hill, Greensboro, Winston Salem, Charlotte, Durham, Mebane, Oak Ridge, Summerfield and Kernersville. We are so blessed to attract an audience of clients from a 2 hour radius and this location is right in the middle of our marketing areas.
Another consideration was space - we knew we needed more space - much more space - and this studio delivers just that! I am in awe when I think about how much and how long we photographed babies and families in our tiny studio space of just 120 square feet. Now we have more than 10x as much space and it is perfect for family portraits, mini sessions, events, classes and workshops. Speaking of events .... we are planning something so special for the Chirstmas season ...now that we have the space, all these big ideas we have had have somewhere to grow...stay tuned, you won't want to miss this!
And lastly, an equally important part of our studio requirements was the design. Every thing in our studio is intentional...much of it we have been collecting for years, awaiting the moment our new studio space would come to fruition ... 9 years later and it was worth the wait! Every piece of furniture, paint color, every wall, every surface was planned with purpose.
I knew I wanted multiple shooting areas and I knew one of them had to be bright and white for creamy, dreamy portraits like the one above.
I started my career as a natural light photographer, but transitioned to studio lighting while indoors. Now, our new studio space offers the best of both worlds. We have yummy natural light to play with as well as studio lighting and the end result is so beautiful for our organic style of portrait photography.
